The Root Canal Treatment Process
Getting a root canal typically takes two visits; however, because our office is equipped with the latest technology, like our CEREC in-house milling machine and digital impression system, we can complete it in one appointment! After diagnosing the issue, Dr. Gilsdorf will create a window in the biting surface of the infected tooth to access the interior chamber. This is where the damaged pulp is located. Our team will remove the infected collection of soft tissue and nerves and sanitize the chamber, making sure no bacteria get left behind.
After your tooth structure has been restored following treatment, we will capture a digital impression of the tooth. This will allow us to design a dental crown using our CEREC technology. Once the crown is milled by our in-house machine, we will cement it to the top of the affected tooth to preserve and protect it.
