Advanced Dental Technology Manhattan

Treating You with Precision & Care

Every year new dental technology emerges, furthering the field of dentistry by making treatments more precise and effective and results longer lasting. Dr. Gilsdorf believes in providing patients with an extremely high-quality experience and results they can rely on. One of the ways our team is able to achieve this goal is by staying up-to-date with and implementing the most advanced technology. Take a moment to read more about the instruments we use below!

Cone Beam CT Scanner

Our cone beam CT scanner creates a detailed, 3D image of your entire facial anatomy, allowing Dr. Gilsdorf and our team to view the location of your sinuses and facial nerves, as well as your jawbone density. We often use this diagnostic technology to learn more about complex issues you may be experiencing, like TMJ disorder, and to plan treatments like dental implant surgery.

Digital Impression System

At our practice, you can let out a sigh of relief knowing that you’ll never have to deal with taking a putty impression again. We utilize advanced digital technology to scan the interior of your mouth, creating a photorealistic impression that we can send to our dental lab or in-house milling machine.

Computer-Guided Dental Implant Surgery

The alternative to computer-guided dental implant surgery is freehand surgery, which relies on a limited field of sight and the instincts of a dentist. We don’t believe that this yields the best outcomes for our patients, which is why we have customized guides that allow us to place the implants at the ideal locations and depths within the mouth.

Intraoral Camera

Another diagnostic piece of technology that we regularly use is our intraoral camera. This allows us to get a more up-close and detailed view of the inside of your mouth. The small camera at the tip of the wand is able to capture still images that allow us to track small concerns, while the live video footage acts as an excellent educational tool for our patients!

Digital X-Rays

Today, digital X-rays are the standard for diagnostic imaging, as they emit less radiation and produce higher-quality, more reliable images for dentists. We utilize this technology to provide our patients with a safer, more streamlined experience.
